Los Alamos MainStreet hosts several major community events in downtown Los Alamos. We believe that community-building events lead to better quality of life for the entire community. All events are FREE to the public.

Los Alamos ScienceFest
July 7-18, 2023
ScienceFest features a week of interactive activities, competitions, speakers, tours, and exhibits to engage the public in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) topics. Participate in the featured "Discovery Day" event at Ashley Pond Park - fun for all ages with STEAM booths, live music, food vendors and more!

Fair & Rodeo Parade
August 11-13, 2023
The Los Alamos County Fair and Rodeo is a 3-day event. The theme for this year's parade "Harnessing Chaos". The public is encouraged to come downtown to enjoy the Arts & Crafts Fair and Rodeo Parade. The Cowboy Dinner & Dance takes place at the Posse Lodge and the Rodeo at the Brewer Arena, both on North Mesa.
Holiday Lights Parade
December 1-3, 2023
WinterFest Weekend celebrates winter in Los Alamos. A host of businesses and organizations schedule events including ballets, bazaars, shows, and sales. The weekend is highlighted by the Holiday Lights Parade and the lighting of the tree at Ashley Pond.

Los Alamos MainStreet is a volunteer driven organization. Following the best practices as established by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, we have standing committees that implement all our projects. We invite you to join our volunteer corps, a wonderful group of individuals, students and
community leaders. Meet new friends, try out new skills and have fun as you help support the MainStreet District. Opportunities range from volunteering for specific events to joining one of our Creative District committees.
